Biography

Patty Greany is a Public Services Librarian for Kelly Library at Emory & Henry College in Emory, VA.  In this position, she provides information literacy instruction, supervises the Interlibrary Loan Department, oversees the student work study program for the Library, Information Technology and Instructional Technology areas, coordinates displays for the library and provides reference service to library patrons.  Ms. Greany has a BS in History and Social Sciences (including a Collegiate Professional Certificate) from Radford University, an MLS from the University of Maryland and has taken additional graduate courses in children’s literature from the University of Virginia.  She served in the United States Army for 9 and ½ years.  Ms. Greany has taught in the public school system of Virginia as well as working in a Virginia public library. She has presented sessions at Virginia Educational Media Conferences, for the Appalachian College Association, Holston Associated Libraries and for an in-service workshop for Washington County Virginia teachers.  She is a member of the Public Services Committee for the Holston Associated Libraries as well as serving as a member of various local and state civic organizations such as the Historical Society of Washington County Virginia, the Virginia Creeper Trail Club and the American Legion.
