Biography

Prior to arriving at Emory & Henry, Dr. Reichard served as senior vice president for academic affairs at Meredith College in Raleigh, North Carolina. She began her education career as a mathematics professor at Elon University in Elon, North Carolina, where she later served as dean of science.

Dr. Reichard currently serves as one of five members from Virginia on the board of trustees of the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools – Commission on Colleges, the regional accreditation agency for the southeastern United States. She is also an elected member of the University Senate of the United Methodist Church, which reviews accreditation at United Methodist-related higher education institutions. She serves on the Steering Committee for the American College & University Presidents’ Climate Commitment. Dr. Reichard is a member of the Division III Presidents Council for the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). She also serves as president of the Old Dominion Athletic Association (ODAC), a 14-member sports league in which Emory & Henry College participates, and is secretary of the Council of Independent Colleges in Virginia (CICV). In addition, Dr. Reichard serves on the board of directors of the Russell and Washington County United Way and was board chair in 2008-09. She is also a member of the Abingdon Rotary Club and Emory United Methodist Church.

B.A. in Mathematics, Harpur College of the State University of New York at Binghamton; M.S. and Ph.D. in Mathematics, Michigan State University.
