Direct Exchange Program
Université de Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV) -- Amiens, France

If you are majoring in French, you may choose to participate in E&H's direct exchange with the Université de Picardie Jules Verne (UPJV) in Amiens, France.

Courses
You'll attend regular university classes with French students, choosing from a wide range of courses in literature, linguistics, history, natural and social sciences, and more. You will also benefit from two courses taught specifically for international students: French Civilization and French Language. Since all courses are taught in French by UPJV faculty, you should have at least an intermediate level of French to participate in this program.

If you study in Amiens during the fall semester, you can take advantage of a 10-day intensive language course for international students in September before regular university classes begin.

Housing and Meals
You will stay in a single room in a dormitory with French students. Instead of paying for room and board at Emory & Henry, you will pay a monthly fee for your room and plan your own meals; every dorm has a kitchen to prepare food, or you may purchase meals at the cafeteria or student restaurant at a very low student rate.

Student Life
As a student at the UPJV, you can take part in all campus activities. Sports, activity courses, orchestras, choirs, and clubs welcome international students. Phileas Fogg, the international student club, organizes events such as parties and guided tours of the city, and the International Office plans trips for students during the semester.

For more information about studying at the Université de Picardie Jules Verne and living in Amiens, visit the UPJV website for exchange students. Download the welcome guide (in French) created by the International Office at UPJV to learn even more and to prepare for your semester in Amiens.
