Living on the E&H campus is a unique experience and an integral part of the College experience. The historic campus maintains the scenic beauty of Central Appalachia but gives convenient access to the region's activities and culture. On-campus residents find there are always friends and activities with which to engage. The E&H campus features 20 residence halls with co-ed and single-gender accommodations. Residence Halls feature resident advisors to assist students as they acclimating to their new surroundings.
The College's residence halls feature new, state-of-the-art additions and traditional single-family type homes. The E&H campus is completely wireless, and most rooms are equipped with hard-line access to the internet. Each room is equipped for digital cable television, and each resident is provided with a bed, an extra-long twin mattress, a desk, a chair, a chest of drawers, a book shelf (usuallly on the desk), and access to a closet.
The College has established policies for on-campus residents to ensure the pleasantness and safety of all residents. Students are required to sign the housing contract and are responsible for knowing the rules of the housing contract, student handbook, academic catalogue and guidelines approved by members of each residence hall.
Room assignments are made by the Student Life staff based on the information students supply in the Residence Life Data Sheet. Emory & Henry has a policy of total integration of all facilities and programs; race, creed, sexual orientation or national origin are not considered in making housing assignments.
Living on the E&H campus requires students to submit forms to the Office of Student Life. These forms include the resident life data sheet, the housing contract and other forms.
