President's Climate Commitment

In 2007, President Reichard joined hundreds of other college and university presidents in signing the Presidents' Climate Commitment (ACUPCC).  Emory & Henry has pledged to achieve carbon neutrality by 2036.  The ACUPCC requires that the college set carbon emission reduction goals, create and implement a climate action plan, and perform regular greenhouse gas inventories.  President Reichard also serves on the ACUPCC Steering Committee, which is the organization's chief governing body.

E&H completed its first greenhouse gas inventory in 2008, and completed another in 2009.  A third inventory was completed in the summer of 2012, which showed a 6.8% decrease in emissions since our baseline year.
