Our School of Health Sciences Campus in Beautiful Marion, VA

The Emory & Henry College's School of Health Sciences graduate level programs, including our Doctor of Physical Therapy, Master of Occupational Therapy & Master of Physician Assistant Studies programs are located on our 12 acre Marion, VA campus, approximately 20 miles north of our Emory, VA campus (our Athletic Training program remains on the Emory campus). Located in a scenic neighborhood of this historic town, the Marion campus offers stunning views of the area's mountainous wonderland.
Nestled in the highlands of southwestern Virginia, Marion, known as "The Heart of the Highlands", boasts of access to some of the region’s most breathtaking surroundings. Famous for its spectacular outdoor recreation areas, Marion is the gateway to both Hungry Mother State Park and the highest peak in Virginia, Mount Rogers. Within miles of our Campus are abundant hiking and biking trails, stocked trout streams and a 100-acre mountain lake. The community is also home to the famous Lincoln Theatre. Beautifully restored in 2004, the theater plays host to the nationally-televised Song of the Mountains performances as well as a variety of other musical and theatrical entertainment opportunities. Visitors to Marion often enjoy overnight lodging at the historic General Francis Marion Hotel, just down the street from the Lincoln Theatre.

In a previous project, one of our Marion Campus buildings was renovated to house our state-of-the-art cadaver lab, dry lab, and skills labs. The top floor of this building is now home to the Mel Leaman Free Clinic at Emory & Henry College.

Equally exciting to the hospital building renovations, the top floor of what was once our Doctor of Physical Therapy Program building underwent further renovations to accommodate the Mel Leaman Free Clinic at Emory & Henry College. Faculty and students from the Occupational Therapy, Physician Assistant, and Physical Therapy programs will be seeing patients in the Clinic allowing for true civic engagement and interprofessional training opportunities.

The building will continue to house our cadaver lab and skills labs and a new anatomy dry lab to house anatomical models, casting & splinting supplies and simulation supplies for procedure skills training in the programs.
