E&H Nursing Students Pledge Commitment to Care at Ceremony
Seven Emory & Henry College students from the class of 2026 pledged a commitment to ethical and compassionate care during a White Coat ceremony on January 11, 2024, at the McGlothlin Center for the Arts. Lisa Boye (Monrovia, Liberia), Nikita Caudill (Glade Spring, Va.), Keenan Glago (Harrisonburg, Va.), Hermella Legesse (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia), Marek Moomey (Callaway, Va.), Emma Santoro (King, N.C.), and Cadence Spaulding (Christiansburg, Va.) marked this significant milestone during a White Coat ceremony in the presence of College leadership, esteemed faculty, supportive friends, and proud family members.

Emory & Henry Teams with Mars Hill on Articulation Agreement for Health Sciences
Emory & Henry College and Mars Hill University administrators have signed an articulation agreement to create an academic pathway for select Mars Hill students majoring in Allied Health Science, Biomedical Sciences, and Psychology to pursue admission into an Emory & Henry School of Health Sciences graduate program in addiction counseling, clinical mental health counseling, occupational therapy, physician assistant studies, or physical therapy.

E&H School of Nursing Offers New Dates for Health Assessment Course for RNs and RN-Nursing Students
The Emory & Henry School of Nursing is offering new date options for the four-or-six session Health Assessment course for registered nurses (RNs) or RN nursing students now beginning on Friday, September 22 at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon, Va. for only $75 in support of regional healthcare. The Friday, September 22, and Friday, October 20 classes offer the option for online or in-person attendance.

Emory & Henry College’s School of Health Sciences Graduates Record-Breaking Class and Two Inaugural Cohorts
On Saturday, August 12, at the Southwest Virginia Higher Education Center in Abingdon, Va., 103 students graduated from Emory & Henry College’s School of Health Sciences, marking a milestone of the largest graduating class to date. Additionally, the College celebrated the inaugural cohorts of the Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and the Doctor of Occupational Therapy. Many other students graduated with a Master of Physician Assistant Studies or a Doctorate of Physical Therapy.

The DPT Class of 2024 Earn Their White Coats
The Emory & Henry Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program housed in the School of Health Sciences on the Marion campus held a traditional White Coat Ceremony on Friday, June 23, 2023, at the Lincoln Theatre in Marion.
The White Coat Ceremony signifies the beginning of the year-long clinical rotation component of the program as a physical therapy student and comes following two years focused on the didactic portion of students’ training.
