Famous for its spectacular outdoor recreation areas, Marion is the gateway to both Hungry Mother State Park and the highest peak in Virginia, Mount Rogers. The community is also home to the famous Lincoln Theatre. Beautifully restored in 2004, the theater plays host to the nationally-televised Song of the Mountains performances as well as a variety of other musical and theatrical entertainment opportunities. Visitors to Marion often enjoy overnight lodging at the historic General Francis Marion Hotel, just down the street from the Lincoln Theatre.
