Building Bonds at Emory & Henry College
In addition to receiving financial aid, students in these programs create lasting bonds with other students, faculty, staff and community members creating a network devoted to their success in college and beyond in their career pursuits. We encourage students to strengthen their relationships to knowledge and to one another through a wide range of activities that blend human interactions with pursuits of the mind and body, ultimately adding to a more joyful enlightened and other-centered life.
Emory & Henry College Art Department awards performance-based scholarships for incoming first-year and transfer students. These scholarships are based on a portfolio review and interview or submission and exhibition of your work into our Blue & Gold Juried High School Art Competition. The portfolio and/or your competition submissions should contain your best work; reflect a range of abilities, interests, and concepts, demonstrate skill in a variety of media, and demonstrate an ability to draw from real objects.
Emory & Henry College added non-NCAA competitive cheerleading and dance as varsity sports in the 2017-18 academic year. Both programs are coed and enhance the College’s previous tradition of a sideline cheerleading squad and student-led dance team. The Church Leadership Fellows program at Emory & Henry College is a renewable, four-year scholarship for incoming, first-year and transfer undergraduate students who are enrolled in the B.A. in Religion program and/or who are discerning a call to professional ministry and/or seeking to develop their church leadership skills.
The Civic Leader Scholars Program at Emory & Henry College is a renewable, four-year scholarship for undergraduate students with a strong interest in civic engagement and/or enrolled in the B.A Civic Innovation program. Civic Leader Scholars participate in on-going civic engagement projects, community-building, reflections, trainings, and leadership development.
E&H Color Guard and Winter Guard members entertain crowds, boost team & campus spirit, and keep school traditions alive. Join us and perform for the E&H community.
Emory & Henry sponsors Disc Golf teams for men and women. The teams will compete against other college club teams from around the region and in the National Collegiate Disc Golf Championships. The College has its own Professional Disc Golf Association Course on campus and hosts professional tournaments.

E&H’s Mass Communications Dept. invites you to participate in the first annual Middle Appalachian High School Media Association (MAHSMA) Competition and Media Conference. Winners of the competitions can receive a Mass Communications renewable, four-year scholarship as incoming first-year, undergraduate students enrolled in the B.A. in MAHSMA) Competition and Media Conference. The Emory & Henry Music Department offers a quality music curriculum in combination with a strong foundation in the liberal arts. Classes, ensembles, performances, and private lessons offer musical experiences for majors (B.A. Music Education, B.A.Music Performance & B.A. Music and non-majors alike. The music department seeks to provide opportunities for students to grow into independent, informed, and creative musicians who will serve as advocates for our art in and out of the music profession. Both music majors and those with significant talent who want to further develop their musical interests while studying in another academic discipline are encouraged to audition.
Join the E&H Outdoor Adventure Team to receive scholarships for backpacking, climbing, paddling, and/or outdoor leadership. Adventure Team members represent the College at conferences, regional events, and at competitions in whitewater paddling and bouldering/climbing.

With a rapidly growing program, a variety of majors, ample performance opportunities and passionate faculty, the Emory & Henry Department of Theatre is recognized as one of the region’s finest. We offer B.F.A. degrees specializing in Acting, Directing, Musical Theatre and Design & Production. We also offer a traditional B.A. in Theatre, which makes us a diverse department dedicated to the training and education of all theatre artists.
