Founded in 1836, Emory & Henry College is a private, co-educational institution affiliated with the United Methodist Church. Located in the highlands of Southwest Virginia, the campus of Emory & Henry College encompasses 168 scenic acres and is surrounded by additional undeveloped land and the village of Emory. The entire central campus, noted for its beauty and architectural distinction, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and the Virginia Register of Historic Landmarks.

The College is one of 40 institutions nationwide included in the popular college guidebook Colleges That Change Lives. In 2013, the Washington Monthly named Emory & Henry as the top liberal arts institution in Virginia, and for the fifth consecutive year, among the top 50 national liberal arts institutions. In 2009, Emory & Henry was one of six colleges and universities nationwide to receive the 2009 President’s Award, the highest national recognition for commitment to service learning and civic engagement. Emory & Henry has been represented eight times by winners of the Carnegie Foundation’s Virginia Professor of the Year Award, more than any other college or university in the state. The College continues to fulfill its mission to help all of its students “Increase in Excellence.”

Emory & Henry College invites applications from individuals committed to excellence in teaching, research, and service in a small liberal-arts school.

Emory & Henry College is an equal opportunity provider and employer, supports excellence through diversity, and encourages applications from members of underrepresented groups.
