INTERVIEW WITH THE OWNERS OF THE DIP DOG STAND!
The owners of Smyth County’s most famous hot dog stand were interviewed by their daughter, who just happens to teach math at Emory & Henry. Dr. Crystal Hall is E&H Class of 2003 and now serves as director of the Qualitative Literacy Center at Emory & Henry.  (Her introduction got zapped in the video by a moment of bad reception!) Listen in as Crystal interviews her parents, Grant and Pam Hall, and brother, Justin, about the history and impact of The Dip Dog Stand.

Malaprops bookstore in Asheville, NC, is a great little independent bookseller, and they’ve been doing a wonderful series of live author talks and book readings. LIVE interview with  the Virginia Department of Transportation.
Every road trip takes us past those ubiquitous road-side historic markers. How does the Commonwealth make decisions about which historic events to include? And a drive in the country to read some of these is a great social distancing activity this summer! Find a marker near you!
