Menu was simple: Vegetable Beef Soup, Skillet Bread, Subs, and Pumpkin Cake with Salted Carmel and Cream Cheese Frosting. We shared with a few of our friends from Emory School of Health Sciences. We regret we did not take pictures of ourselves or our friends with all our excitement.

- From Lisa Bourne ('07, Abingdon): Bourne/Weaver-Miller party of 9 have perfected the strategy of letting our kids play while we celebrate homecoming. We also made ribs and chicken in our smoker - no recipe, just takes some time! We also don’t believe it’s homecoming without sausage balls.

- Monica Hoel (’85, Emory, Disqualified): I set up a tailgate in conjunction with our E&H Global Street Party so I used bowls from around the world to put out not many snacks! I also used one of my oldest pieces of swag as a table cloth for the Global Street Punch table: a blanket given to me by Ellis Sasser ’68. That punch recipe: 1 can limeade, one can vodka, one can gin, 1.5 cans water – top off your glass with a little beer to cut the sweet! Only 3 of us at the party, and we each had our own punch jar (to reduce handling). And, of course, reusable napkins (old bandanas from Bonny’s haircuts) and beer in cans (so we can recycle!). Only 3 of us at the party, and we each had our own punch jar.

- From Elizabeth Stone Bell, ’10, Knoxville, TN: No one told Mia we weren’t doing Homecoming this year!
- From Erin '97 and Danny Ruble '01, Abingdon: Raincheck! Due to Covid exposure, we had to cancel our E&H family tailgate. We even had our garage bar all set up, and ready to go! We are heartbroken, but our tip is You can never have too much blue and gold in decorations, table set up, and food! Go Wasps!

- From Laura Craven Duncan '84, Hertford, NC: Our romantic little tailgate for 2 ended with a beautiful sunset over the Albemarle sound. Sure missed being in Emory -- but this was pretty great, too!

- From Ann Sharp Bane '81, Hampton, VA: Make all the people in your bubble - close friends and family - Emory “wanna bees.” Then, even a global pandemic won't rain on your tailgate or dampen your Emory spirit!
