The Likelihood of Incarceration and Recidivism Among American Veterans Suffering From Combat-Induced Mental Illnesses

This research project was completed during my freshman year Transitions course. It discusses the correlation between combat induced mental illness and the likelihood of incarceration in veterans. The presentation highlights the need for more rehabilitative services for veterans who commit crimes rather than traditional incarceration methods. The presentation concludes with potential solutions the Department of Veterans Affairs can implement to help returning soldiers heal from the psychological wounds they receive while deployed overseas.
