The goal of Summer Scholars is to provide each student with an opportunity to begin a new adventure in learning and growing here at Emory & Henry.
The Summer Scholars program offers a unique mix of learning activities designed to broaden students’ interests and provide early exposure to a college-like setting. Summer Scholars attend daily classes in E&H academic buildings, live in a campus residence hall, and are assigned an adult counselor who will be present at all times throughout the entire week.
Scholars work with experienced instructors to complete interactive projects throughout the week. In addition, Summer Scholars also promotes leadership and peer interaction through activities outside the classroom. In the evenings, students enjoy a wide range of activities including a street dance, talent show, and field activities. Students also enjoy a group trip to the Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Virginia, one evening.
Starting in mid-May we will begin selecting students for the Summer Scholars Institute and Leadership Program. We will base our decision on your responses in this application and the responses from the two references whose email addresses you provide. Please check with your school’s guidance counselors or TAG program director for more information on Emory & Henry’s Summer Scholars Institute and Leadership program.
