Sherri is an editorial hair and makeup artist.Sherri Jessee (E&H ’92) is an award-winning editorial hair and makeup artist and is the proprietor of Sherri’s Hair Salon in Bristol, Virginia. During the pandemic, she had to close the shop for 8 weeks, but now they’re open again, closely following guidelines for safety (clients and service providers wearing masks, taking temperatures of clients, lots of hand-washing, cleaning and sanitizing, and only one client entering the salon at a time). Sherri says her clients are responding well to all the regulations. “They have been awesome! All of my clients have been 100% compliant and thrilled to be back!”

Sherri says this was the first time in 40 years she hadn’t been doing hair regularly. She kept busy during the down time by staying creative. “I shipped out haircare product orders made on my salon website, made and sold custom makeup palettes, created and sold pressed flower jewelry, and started a “Bristol Series” of jewelry. I also did several creative projects where I was model, hair and makeup artist, photographer and re-toucher all in one!”

But she’s glad that’s the salon is back open. “It’s nice to be back to the shop where our motto is ‘Be nice and do pretty hair.’”
