Emory & Henry announces new accelerated RN to BSN program
The fast-track program will be fully online with three clinical components, designed to meet the needs of working individuals who need an accommodating and realistic educational program.
“The demand for nurses in our region continues to rise,” says program director, Saundra Farmer, DNP, MSN, RN, and Abingdon resident. “When an RN continues their education at Emory & Henry, they will receive more individualized attention and assistance from our caring and compassionate nursing faculty, who want to help our students succeed in their nursing journey.”
The program curriculum is designed to enhance critical thinking, decision-making and patient care skills while learning communication, leadership and management skills to apply to the student’s nursing career.
“Our purpose is to educate and prepare baccalaureate level nurses to be professional leaders in healthcare in Southwest Virginia and surrounding areas,” says Farmer. “Most importantly, we want our students to be able to provide optimal care to their clients, family and communities and ensure improvement in patient outcomes.”
Financial aid and scholarship opportunities are available. Emory & Henry is accepting applications for fall and spring enrollment.
On the one-year full-time accelerated track, students will complete their degree in three semesters by attending Fall, Spring and Summer sessions with some 7-week sessions along with full-semester sessions. A two-year, part-time RN to BSN program is also available at Emory & Henry.
