Emory & Henry College offers international credential with the Global Seal of Biliteracy
The Global Seal of Biliteracy conveys proficiency with language skills in two or more languages and enables educators and employers across the world to quickly validate a student’s language skills.
“As the only college in the region that currently offers this opportunity, we are very proud to have this new avenue of recognition for our students,” says Dr. Amanda Romjue, Visiting Assistant Professor of Spanish. “We believe language credentials will result in pay differentials and increased employment opportunities for our students. This credential helps students stand out in the world of work as a candidate that brings an essential skill to the workplace.”
The Global Seal of Biliteracy allows employers to easily verify students’ language skills and be confident that they possess valuable soft skills, such as intercultural competence, collaboration and openness to alternative viewpoints linked to language learners. It also provides a LinkedIn credential that clearly states the fluency level the student has achieved.
“The Emory & Henry Global Seal of Biliteracy will help all students become “Career & Life Ready” in a multicultural world and ever changing global economy where the development of new skills will dominate the marketplace for those emerging leaders who become bilingual,” says Lee Svete, Director of The van Vlissingen Center for Career & Professional Development.
The Global Seal of Biliteracy will be open to all students.
