Emory & Henry senior Zane Seymore contracts with ROTC
Colonel Brent A. Clemmer, commander of 7th Brigade, Cadet Command in Fort Knox, Kentucky, administered the contracting oath in front of family, select college and ROTC personnel.
“Zane is a strong student, natural athlete, born leader and a superb representative of Emory & Henry,” says Charlie Quillin, Col, USAF (ret), Veterans Services and ROTC Coordinator at Emory & Henry. “ROTC will give him the structure and opportunity to hone each of those talents.”
Cadet Seymore has met requirements including academic, physical and training to earn this opportunity. He will go on to represent himself, Emory & Henry, the Southwest Virginia Region, and the United States Army with distinction once a commissioned officer.
“I have always wanted to serve my country,” says Cadet Seymore, sociology, crime and society major. “My goal is to commission into the National Guard, apply to be a state trooper, and hopefully work my way into a federal law enforcement job.”
Cadet Seymore is the third E&H ROTC cadet to contract within the first two years of the program. He will be commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the US Army after graduation in May 2022. At Emory & Henry College, students work alongside peers and professors at ETSU to take ROTC classes that will lead them toward graduating in four years with a degree and the opportunity to serve their country.
Emory & Henry is hosting a virtual ROTC Open House on November 16 to provide information and answer questions about the ROTC Program and its affordable pathway for students.
