E&H Online offers series of opportunities for faculty professional development
E&H Online highly recommends that faculty participate in training as part of the course design and development process. Training is offered in multiple modalities and custom training can be requested by divisions, departments, programs, or individuals.
On an ongoing basis, E&H Online shares weekly updates on learning strategies, best practices in teaching and learning, course design and development and more on Pedagogy Digest Tuesdays. E&H Online also offers scheduled Moodle and EdTech training sessions as well as individual training sessions. The Learning Design, Strategy, and Innovation Workshops shares best practices and strategies in designing and teaching online and hybrid courses.
“Faculty Professional Development for Best Practices in Teaching and Learning is an integral part of our College’s Strategic Plan,” says Xuan Wang-Wolf, Director of Online Education. “It provides opportunities for faculty to collaborate and brainstorm new ways to enhance interaction and engagement in our learning environments across multiple modalities. These high-impact practices for integrative learning will not only lead us to greater innovation in pedagogical methods, but also reinforce the access to and connection with our learner’s experience with society.”
In December, faculty members will have the opportunity to complete a two-week Quality Matters Applying the Quality Matters Rubric workshop.
A full list of faculty and staff that successfully completed Quality Matter’s Designing Your Online Course is available here.
