The Office of DEI & The ID Center Honor Veteran’s Day 2020
The Inclusion and Dialogue Center, one of flagship programs of the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion at Emory & Henry College, is committed to paying our respect to the military veterans who have served, and are currently serving, this country. We honor and respect the veterans who sacrificed years of their lives so that we could live out the American Dream of life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness.
Many Black soldiers, LGBTQ+ soldiers, Asian American soldiers and other soldiers of color have not always experienced the same treatment as their white colleagues both during times of war and even upon returning home from defending our country. Despite their courageous service, they often experienced segregation, discrimination, homelessness and even targeted brutality and violence.
The Inclusion & Dialogue Center and the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion salutes and honors ALL our soldiers on this Veteran’s Day and we are committed to helping American Veterans now and in the future. We realize that any semblance of freedom we enjoy is because of our Veteran’s service and sacrifice.
