April 12, 2021 is the beginning of Ramadan.
Ramadan starts on April 12 and runs through May 12. Ramadan is a Muslim Holy Month celebrated as the month in which the first verses of the Quran were revealed to the Prophet Mohammed. Observing Muslims will fast from the before sunrise prayer, Fajr, to the sunset prayer, Maghrib.

April 22, 2021 is Earth Day.
Earth Day is an annual event on April 22 to demonstrate support for environmental protection. It was first held in 1970 and now includes a wide range of events coordinated globally by EARTHDAY.ORG. This year, Earth Day 2021 will highlight how we can prevent the coming disasters of climate change and environmental destruction. The Theme for 2021 is “we can Restore Our Earth”.
April 23, 2021 is The Day of Silence.
The Day of Silence is held on the 23 of April during which students take a daylong vow of silence to protest the actual silencing of LGBTQAI+ students and their allies due to bias, bigotry and harassment. We encourage all who are interested to participating to please practice silence in solidarity with our LGBTQAI+ friends and family. You can learn more about The Day of Silence here.
April 30, 2021 is Beltane or May Day.
Beltane or May Day is celebrated in both pagan spirituality and Celtic cultures as the halfway point between the Spring Equinox and the Summer Solstice. Many Beltane celebrations include bonfires symbolic of leaving the darkness of winter behind and welcoming in the light of summer. This festival also honors the new growth of spring and looking toward bountiful harvests in the fall. This can have both literal and symbolic meanings. Learn more about Beltane here.
