Kiara Barbour to pursue master’s of Social Work
Our Emory & Henry seniors are preparing to graduate and change the world.
Kiara Barbour, from Charlottesville, Va., will graduate in May 2021 with a degree in Sociology.
“Emory & Henry gave me the opportunity to connect with people of different backgrounds and have engaging conversations with them,” says Barbour. “It gave me the opportunity to develop my truest self.”
While at Emory & Henry, Barbour was a member of Delta Omicron Pi, Greek Council Judicial Board and the Bonner Scholars.
“Dr. Sorensen has been my advisor for the last couple of years, and I wouldn’t have made it through without her,” says Barbour. “She gave me the best advice and allowed me to come to her with almost anything that was going wrong. Also, Christine Arias in the career center has been the most kind and helpful person. She has helped me write both of my personal statements for graduate school and I could not be more thankful for Christine and all she has done for me.”
After graduation, Barbour plans to pursue her master’s of Social Work.
