Savannah Pressley to pursue a career in teaching
Savannah Pressley, ’22, will graduate from Emory & Henry College with a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary English and a minor in Dance. Pressley has been accepted into the College’s Master of Education program as well.
Pressley, a Roanoke, Va. native, will continue her education at Emory & Henry College following graduation this spring. “The education department has been amazing,” said Pressley. “The department has done everything to prepare me and my fellow classmates for teaching young minds,” she continued.
Pressley was the captain of the dance team at the College and she was an active member of spiritual life on campus. She will be moving into a position teaching 6th grade English at a Franklin county school while continuing her education in the Master of Education program at the College. “The department has supported me in my journey with getting a job while also still being in the Master’s program here at Emory,” said Pressley. “They’re making sure I have my own mentor at home while I begin my teaching career so I can still get all of the benefits from student teaching.”
