Fecho Work Interprets the Past through Mixed Media
When you look back on the past, what do you see?
Artist Susan Fecho interprets the past as a “personal, cultural and archetypal artifact.” Her work will be on display in an exhibition entitled When I Breathe on Air, which runs from Oct. 24 to Nov. 19 in the McGlothlin Center Art Gallery at Emory & Henry College .
Fecho will discuss her work beginning at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 24 in the Kennedy-Reedy Theatre of the McGlothlin Center for the Arts. The exhibition and lecture are free and open to the public.
Through some of her mixed-media works, she uses the human body, architecture and landscape as metaphors built through a plethora of materials producing both 2D and 3D works. As her pieces take on a new and deeper significance, they also range in themes from whimsical to allegorical.
