From the Office of Church Relations: Ash Wednesday 2023

February 22, 2023 is the beginning of the Lent season. Join us as we begin our quest together over the next forty days and nights to create a more just world. It is our time to walk beside one another and become more loving, more faithful and more fruitful. This Lenten season provides us with the glue necessary to bind us together in the “sacred quest of life” as we reflect on our past, accept our present and anticipate our future. It is in this season that we come to better understand our connectedness. “We need each another to survive and to thrive.”

Today, Ash Wednesday, we charter the same path that our ancestors did many years ago; telling and retelling the stories of our shared lived experiences. Christians throughout the globe will start this journey together through our wilderness experience. All are welcome to journey together on one accord as we Rest, Redirect, Refocus and Reorient our lives for the good of all humanity. In this season of refining, remember that you are dust...
