Dr. Amy Sorensen presented with first annual MLK Briggs award, named for Reverend Martin Luther ...Dr. Amy Sorensen presented with first annual MLK Briggs award, named for Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr and Mary Kay Briggs (chaplain and long-time organizer of MLK Day events at Emory and Henry.On February 3, 2018, the Inclusion and Dialogue Center (directed by Patricia Gonzalez) hosted its First Annual Social Justice Awards celebration, kicking off Black History Month at Emory & Henry. Students and faculty involved in social justice work on and off campus were honored. Among those honored, Dr. Sorensen was the recipient of the first annual MLK Briggs award, named for Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr and Mary Kay Briggs (chaplain and long-time organizer of MLK Day events at Emory and Henry).
