Night Owl Circus to Perform at Emory & Henry College

Night Owl Circus Arts (NOCA) will perform daring acrobatic stunts and defy gravity during performances at the McGlothlin Center for the Arts at Emory & Henry College on Friday, Aug. 3, at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, Aug. 5, at 2 p.m.

As a featured event of the Virginia Highlands Festival, the performance, “Sommerso,” is an underwater tale told through daring acrobatic stunts on aerial silks.

Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for those 18 years old and under. Tickets can be purchased online at ehc.edu/McGlothlinCenter or in person at the box office Monday through Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. and 1 to 4 p.m.

In addition to performing, the Johnson City, Tenn., based group offers classes seven days a week for all ages and skill levels. The group offers classes in silks, Lyra, aerial yoga, AcroYoga, tumbling and more. NOCA has worked with Barter Theater and J onesborough Repertory Theater to coach circus arts for several professional stage productions.

The annual Virginia Highlands Festival brings together artistic and cultural activity by leveraging the creative, historical and natural resources of Abingdon and the surrounding area.
