Emerging Artist Adam Yungbluth Shows New Work

Posted by Jeffrey Cowart

On Jan. 28, Adam Yungbluth spoke to students, employees and community members in an Artalk at the McGlothlin Center for the Arts in conjunction with his exhibit, “Drawn to Home, or a Good Place for Candy & Unicorns,” which ran from Jan. 15 until Feb. 9, 2019.

Emerging artist Adam Yungbluth creates ceramic vessels that explore the subject of place and its ability to inspire. Recently relocating to Kentucky has brought new meaning to his artwork. Yungbluth’s slab and coil-built vessels, paired with imagery, are inspired by the landscape, people, history and lore of his new home in Appalachia. A professor of art and design at Morehead University in Kentucky, Yungbluth expresses contradictions in his art career such as his battle with colorblindness.
