Decorated French Teacher, Lindsay Pulfer Langett, Headed to France
Lindsay Pulfer Langett was received a grant from the French Embassy in the United States to complete a two-week pedagogical internship at the CAVILAM institute in Vichy, France in July 2019. “I will be taking courses with French teachers from around the world and housed with a French family during this time. The grant covers tuition, food, lodging, and travel.”
In 2018, she was chosen to participate in the Virginia Department of Education’s Superintendent’s Partner School Leaders’ Site Visit in France. She was one of only four chosen for this competitive scholarship opportunity from among more than 20 applicants from licensed French teachers across Virginia. She was flown to and lodged in Paris for a variety of professional development opportunities in Reims and Paris coordinated by the French Ministry of Education. Lindsay teaches French at Jefferson-Forest High School in Bedford County, teaching French II, III, IV and AP classes “while advocating for the cultural importance of language study in a secondary language.”
