The Summer Scholars program offers a unique mix of learning activities designed to broaden students’ interests and provide early exposure to a college-like setting. Summer Scholars attend daily classes in E&H academic buildings, live in a campus residence hall, and are assigned an adult counselor who will be present at all times throughout the entire week.
Scholars work with experienced instructors to complete interactive projects throughout the week. In addition, Summer Scholars also promotes leadership and peer interaction through activities outside the classroom. In the evenings, students enjoy a wide range of activities including a street dance, talent show, and field activities. Students also enjoy a group trip to the Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Virginia, one evening.
