Emily graduated with an equine studies degree from Emory & Henry College and has been riding for 20 years. She competed various mounts as a junior in both the hunter and jumper rings under trainers Susan Arnold and Heather Steinman. She worked as an assistant manager to Blair Gunter in Atlanta, Georgia for four years before attending college. At Emory & Henry, she was the open rider for the IHSA team for 2014 and 2016, and competed on the ANRC National team (Reserve Champion Team 2016) for two years, becoming ANRC Certified in 2015. After college, she groomed for Jim Clapperton and Emily Williams for Rivercross Farm. She continued with the same farm under Victoria Colvin, and was responsible for assisting in grooming, prepping and training young hunters, jumpers, and equitation horses. She is currently the trainer for Neighland Farm in Bristol, TN.
