Scott Sikes
I attended Emory & Henry College as a first generation college student from Galax, VA and was a Bonner Scholar. Immediately upon graduation, I worked for two years in the College’s Office of Admissions and, after that, as the Coordinator of the Bonner Scholars Program. For a number of years, I worked in the field of academic publishing and maintained strong ties to Emory & Henry, including serving as a member and president of the Alumni Association Board of Directors.
I returned to the College in my current role, which involves a significant portion of the overall mission of the Appalachian Center for Civic Life, including teaching in the Civic Innovation and MCOL programs as well as overseeing and assisting with a number of student projects. I live with my wife, Felicia, who is also a graduate of the College, and our daughter, Madeline, a high school student, on a small farm just over the hill from campus and am involved in a number of community organizations in our area.
