Alisyn Bales Hartsock

Alisyn has come full circle - she is now teaching in the elementary school she attended as a student.  She completed her teacher prep program in Interdisciplinary History and Social Sciences and has teaching endorsements in Elementary Education PK-6 and in Middle School Social Studies 6-8.  She is in her third year of teaching 1st grade at Atkins Elementary School in Smyth County Public Schools.

Extracurricular Activities:

Alpha Phi Omega, student director of an after school program at Meadowview Elementary, many volunteer hours with the local school systems

My time at Emory & Henry has been some of the best years of my life. I learned so much from the school and the staff. I was pushed to be my best even when I didn’t think I was capable, and by working closely with my education peers, I developed a sense of pride and determination to be the best teacher (or student teacher) I could possibly be. I had confidence in my education and knew that Emory only prepared the best of teachers. While I could have gone to a cheaper school,  I wholeheartedly believe that if I had not gone to Emory I would not be the educator I am today.
