Dear Emory & Henry College Community,
Please read this email in its entirety as it contains important information regarding the College’s response to the ever-evolving COVID-19 Novel Coronavirus situation.
As the COVID-19 Task Force has navigated this incredibly complicated and nuanced situation, we appreciate your patience as we make decisions that are best for Emory & Henry College. At this time we believe that the following announcements are necessary to preserve the health and well-being of our students, faculty, staff, and campus community
Online Classes Announcement for the Remainder of the Semester for the Emory Campus
Emory & Henry College will move fully online for the rest of the Spring 2020 Academic Semester. We understand that some students may have difficulty navigating this situation. Should students foresee issues accessing the remote and online resources necessary for your education during these weeks, please work directly with Associate Provost and Dean of Student Success Jolie Lewis at email@example.com for accommodations. Please be as creative as possible in finding ways to access Internet and technology to complete classes from home.
In regards to online classes, faculty are currently engaging in training all week as to how this process will work. Faculty should be reaching out very soon, if they have not already, in regards to this transition to online classes.
For students at the School of Health Sciences - please look for information from Dr. Lou Fincher.
College Housing Announcement for the Emory Campus
Students that live in College Housing should be on the lookout for an email from Josh von Castle, Assistant Dean of Students and Director of Housing/Residence Life and Faith Blankenship, Housing Operations Coordinator, with detailed instruction on how checking out of the residence halls will work. Please wait until you have received this information before reaching out with questions. We will engage in a staggered check-out process to ensure that we are meeting CDC guidelines. It is imperative, to protect your own health and the health of those around you, that you adhere to the check-out process that will be communicated by Dean von Castle.
At this time, we are examining how to conduct room and board refunds for the remainder of the academic semester. We will announce more information by Monday, March 30th.
Student Pay for Those Receiving Federal Work Study
For students that are part of the Federal Work Study program, please be on the lookout for more information from Tracy Peery, Director of Human Resources.
At this time, graduation will occur as scheduled but the commencement ceremony will be delayed. Emory & Henry College administration is dedicated to providing our amazing graduates an Emory & Henry commencement ceremony. We are continuing to watch how the national and global situations evolves, and will make decisions regarding how commencement will occur in the coming weeks.
