Amanda Bird Blevins

Clinical Assistant Professor Occupational Therapy

Dr. Blevins is an Occupational Therapist who has spent her career serving the geriatric population.  She grew up in Glade Spring, VA in southwest Virginia and has always had a passion for this historically under-served area and this particular population.  Her main experience has been with patients in the skilled nursing and long term care settings, but she also has experience with acute care and home health.  After serving as a staff Occupational Therapist at a nursing facility, she then transitioned to Assistant Program Manager, and then Rehab Director for a staff of 15 therapists.  Most recently, Dr. Blevins fulfilled an adjunct teaching position in the OT department at Emory & Henry and is very excited for this full-time transition to academia.  She is looking forward to being a part of this program and hopes to pass on her passion for this profession as well as this beautiful region.
