Alex was born and raised in Winslow, Arizona. She attended Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, New Mexico, where she earned her Bachelor of Arts Degree in English with a minor in Spanish and her Master of Arts Degree in English with a focus on Southwestern/Chicanx literature.

Prior to her journey to Emory & Henry, Alex worked closely with ENMU Housing & Residence Life as a Hall Director. She also served as a Graduate Assistant with the ENMU Department of Languages & Literature, where she tutored students in the Writing Center, worked as an Assistant Editor for the university’s literary journal, and taught English Composition courses.

Alex is passionate about mentorship, growth, and healing. Her focus at Emory & Henry College is building interpersonal relationships, serving as an advocate, and pursuing opportunities for students throughout their academic journeys.
