Professor Herndon has also produced YouTube videos equivalent to an entire two-semester course in Organic Chemistry: https://wordpress.nmsu.edu/jherndon/organic-chemistry-i-chem-313/ and https://wordpress.nmsu.edu/jherndon/organic-chemistry-ii-chem-314/
James Herndon has published extensively on the development of new reagents for the synthesis of complex ring systems. An overarching theme of these research projects has been to develop methods that quickly and reliably transform simple and readily available compounds into complex ring systems.
