Abby Mills

Abby is a class of 2022 honors student at Emory & Henry College. Her majors are Environmental Studies-Policy and Political Science, and she is minoring in Spanish. She began working as a Global Ambassador in January of 2022, and is super excited to be a part of the team.

Abby has always enjoyed traveling, and loves to learn about new cultures and see how others live their daily lives. Prior to her undergraduate career, Abby had the opportunity to travel to places like Chinandega, Nicaragua and multiple cities in the United States, including New York and Chicago. As soon as she attended her first international education lyceum as a first-year at Emory & Henry, she knew that she wanted to participate in Emory’s international programs. In January of 2020, she received the opportunity to visit Rome and Florence in Italy with the E&H marching band, march in the New Year’s Day Peace Parade in Rome, and hear a blessing from the pope!

After several delays due to the global pandemic, Abby studied at the Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha in Toledo, Spain for the fall semester of 2021. It was the best time of her life, as she was fully immersed in the Spanish lifestyle while also taking classes that were conducted completely in Spanish. Through the European Erasmus program, she now has friends from all over the world, including places like Turkey, South Korea, Czech Republic, France, Italy, and Germany. She plans on returning to Spain in the near future, and possibly attending graduate school there.

She is excited to share her experiences abroad with others, and present on the value of international education!
