Annalee Tull

Adjunct Professor Dean of Faculty

Annalee Tull has an MFA in interdisciplinary arts from Goddard College, an MA in communication studies emphasizing performance from East Tennessee State University, and a BA degree in dance and journalism from Radford University with a minor in French.

She has trained extensively in ballet, tap, jazz, tumbling, hip hop, modern and contemporary styles of dance.

She is on faculty at Watts Dance Studio and choreographs regionally with the Showcase Dancers. She is a former member of DDO Artists Agency, where she performed in music videos for Taylor Swift and Dierks Bentley.

Professor Tull teaches tap technique, ballet technique, jazz technique, musical theatre dance, and Introduction to Dance artistry.

Professional Experience

While at Radford, she danced with the dance department as well as the hip hop dance group, AreUHype. Annalee performs and choreographs works surrounding Appalachian identity and created a performance art piece titled “Celebrating Appalachia” for the Crooked Road’s Mountains of Music Homecoming festival. She has choreographed full-length musicals, such as Baby: the musical, Pippin, and Into the Woods. More recently, Annalee has performed in New York City at the Choreographer’s Canvas, performing Bob Boross’s work “I am,” and at the Tap City festival performing works by Ted Louis Levy and Brenda Buffalino. She also published her first book chapter about performing Appalachian identity. This fall, she will be presenting a performance piece about freedom in Philadelphia, blending dance and spoken word.
