Lisa Withers

Director, McGlothlin Center for the Arts Music

Dr. Withers, a recent recipient of the Jean F. Ritchie Fellowship in the Fine and Performing Arts from the Appalachian College Association, performs solo and collaborative piano recitals and gives piano master classes throughout the region.

She is the current President of the Virginia Music Teachers Association and has research interests in American female composers, new music, and piano pedagogy. Withers teaches private and class piano and music theory at Emory & Henry, in addition to teaching a course on film music in the general education curriculum.
