Victoria Hollis Galloway
From an early age Professor Galloway had a focused interest in medicine. She was mentored by a pediatrician in Williamsburg, Virginia throughout her high school and undergraduate careers, assisting with patient care and office duties. Her love of medicine grew under this mentorship.
She attended Mary Washington College in Fredericksburg, Virginia earning her Bachelor of Science in Biology with Honors Distinction. Upon completion of her undergraduate degree she applied and was accepted to the Physician Assistant program at Mountain State University in Beckley, West Virginia. While attending MSU, Prof. Galloway earned her second Bachelor’s degree, a Bachelor of Medical Science, concurrently with her Master of Science Physician Assistant.
After graduating she decided to stay in the area and took a rural emergency medicine position with Team Health working in Beckley, West Virginia and Welch, West Virginia. Later, Prof. Galloway worked as a hospitalist physician assistant at Bristol Regional Medical Center until she decided to return to rural emergency medicine in Big Stone Gap, Virginia in 2006. Prof. Galloway has an affinity for rural medicine, in particular her ER family at Lonesome Pine Hospital. During 2008-2009, she enjoyed an opportunity to care for pediatric patients in Marion, Virginia on a PRN basis with Mountain View Pediatrics.
Currently, Prof. Galloway lives in Bristol with her son and Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Lochlan. She enjoys spending time with her parents in Yorktown, Virginia and her sister’s family in Charleston, South Carolina. She has a love of travel, horseback riding, American history and spending time with her family, friends, and dog.

Within Emory & Henry College’s School of Health Sciences Department of Physician Assistant Studies, Prof. Galloway is the Director of Clinical Education, Principal Faculty.
Prof. Galloway currently works for Northeast Tennessee Emergency Physicians/APP as a PRN emergency medicine Physician Assistant at Lonesome Pine Hospital, Big Stone Gap, Virginia and Bristol Regional Medical Center, Bristol, Tennessee. She is also working at the Mel Leaman Free Clinic in Marion, Virginia. She is certified by the NCCPA and holds current certifications for healthcare providers in BLS, ACLS, and PALS.
