After six years in Admissions, I have the excellent opportunity to transfer over to the department of Student Success and Orientation as the New Student Experience Director. I’m incredibly excited about the opportunity to work directly with Emory & Henry students consistently. Connecting with students is something I enjoy, but making a positive impact on a student’s life is my passion.
The Student Success division played a vital role in my success as an undergraduate student at Emory & Henry. Being a first-generation college student attending an institution 5 hours away from a place I called home most of my life was hard. The support I received from faculty, staff, and friends was the glue that held me together during adverse times. Emory & Henry is a place that pushed me out of my comfort zone; I’m forever grateful for those uncomfortable moments because growth came as a result. No matter how hard a situation was, I never felt alone. Student Success is a division at the college, but several parties play a role in a student’s success. Our goal is to help create a web of support, and this web looks different for every student.
I’m grateful for the opportunity to help create webs of support for Emory & Henry students. I take pride in playing a small role in assisting students in getting to that ultimate goal of graduation.
