About Me

Prater received a bachelor of arts in photography & digital imaging and a bachelor of fine arts in art with a concentration in graphic design from Virginia Intermont College.

For 5 years, she served as creative manager in the marketing department of Barter Theatre in Abingdon, Va., wearing many hats such as photographer, graphic designer and web designer. Prater also worked for a year as creative director for Virginia Intermont College.

At Emory & Henry College, Prater worked in the Office of Public Relations as electronic & print publications assistant for 3 years and served as assistant director, admissions promotion & events in the Admissions Office since July 2016. 

In January of 2018, Prater moved to the newly formed Office of Marketing and Communications to become Director of Marketing. 

Prater also serves as Vice President for the American Advertising Federation of Southwest Virginia. www.aafswva.com
