Travis W. Proffitt
Hello! My name is Travis Proffitt and I am the Director of Academic Diversity Initiatives at Emory & Henry College.
I am a 2004 graduate of Emory & Henry, holding degrees in Religion and Public Policy & Community Service. I completed my M.A. in Social Justice at Loyola University Chicago in May 2008.
In 2017, I began doctoral studies at The Union Institute & University, where I’m pursuing a Ph.D. in Humanities and Culture with a specialization in Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Studies. My research focuses on the intersections of religious and civic identity, intercultural dialogue, and pedagogical (teaching) innovation.
Please stop by the Inclusion & Dialogue Center and visit for a while. I’d appreciate your perspective on what makes an E&H education meaningful for all persons and how we can make the educational experience inclusive and representative of our diverse community.
