Rick has extensive financial management experience earned over a 25 year career in industry, holding positions ranging from Controller to CFO.
He has taught as an adjunct professor for 35 years and more recently served as tenured, full-time professor for Lakeland College in Wisconsin. At Lakeland he taught and developed a nationally-recognized accounting program including the development of a unique online CPA course sequence which has won national top-10 award honors on the CPA exam.
He holds the Certified Public Accountant license in Wisconsin, the Certified Fraud Examiner certification from the ACFE, and the Chartered Global Managerial Accountant designation from the AICPA.
At Lakeland he also developed a unique volunteer income tax preparation program (VITA) for students to assist low-income taxpayers in filing their tax returns which resulted in over $1.5 million in refunds being generated locally.
In 2007 he was elected by his peers to be awarded the prestigious Underkopfler Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching. He has also taught for many years as an adjunct professor for UW Milwaukee and UW Green Bay mostly in their Masters programs.
He is married to his college sweetheart, Paula. Together, they have four grown children, and one grandchild.
