Hannah Caudill

Dr. Hannah Caudill graduated from Emory & Henry College in 2017. Throughout her time at Emory & Henry, she competed on the Emory & Henry women’s volleyball team, was a member of Kappa Phi Alpha sorority and Psi Chi Honor Society, and worked as a departmental and lab assistant within the psychology department. After obtaining her bachelor’s degree in psychology, she pursued her occupational therapy degree at Murphy Deming College of Health Sciences - Mary Baldwin University (MDCHS). Throughout her time at MDCHS, she presented research at both local and national conferences including the Virginia Occupational Therapy Association (VOTA) and the American Occupational Therapy Association (AOTA). Additionally, she worked closely with a multidisciplinary team at Virginia Tech Adult Day Services for her doctoral capstone project to develop a caregiver wellness program and research occupational therapy’s role in adult day centers. After obtaining her doctoral degree in 2020, she began employment at Smyth County Community Hospital where she provided occupational therapy services to individuals across the lifespan primarily in the acute care setting, but also in the inpatient rehab and outpatient settings. Her passion is working with the geriatric population.

Hannah joined the Emory & Henry Doctor of Occupational Therapy team in the fall of 2023 and is eager to continue to serve Southwest Virginia and other surrounding areas. She values student-centered learning and is committed to creating a safe space for learning while instructing students in relevant and evidence-based practice. She aims to create a positive, actively engaging environment that meets the learning needs of each unique individual and strives to encourage interest, initiate critical thinking, and compel motivation in young professionals. 

Hannah is from Glade Spring, VA. She enjoys being outdoors. playing volleyball, and spending time with her husband and two sons.
