Haleigh Conley

“The small classes at Emory & Henry helped me build strong relationships with my professors and classmates that sparked my career as a scientist. These relationships gave me opportunities to participate in research early, leading to my first job at Duke University and ultimately to completing a Ph.D. in Comparative Biomedical Sciences. The well-rounded education I received at Emory & Henry also ensured I was prepared for the writing and speaking involved in research. I am now a Postdoctoral Research Scholar at Duke and my husband Coleman ’14 is also an E&H graduate. I want future students in Southwest Virginia to see all that is possible to achieve in science.” —Haleigh Conley ’16
