Enchantments: Symphony of the Mountains

Kennedy~Reedy Theatre, McGlothlin Center for the Arts (MCA) — 30481 Garnand Dr.

The second half of the Symphony of the Mountains’ season begins on January 26 at the McGlothlin Center with this Enchantments concert showcasing principal clarinetist and former Fulbright Scholar, Dr. Victor Chávez. Chávez will play the Clarinet Concerto by twentieth-century composer, Carl August Nielsen. In addition, the Symphony of the Mountains will perform Symphony No. 4 by Beethoven. Lighter in spirit than his more famous Third or Fifth Symphonies, Symphony No. 4 exposes a different side of the composer. Through the carefully crafted mixing of twentieth century and Classical era music, the audience will be introduced to the similarities and differences that these musical styles convey through various musical elements.
