The Emory & Henry College Arts Series will present a spring concert of “Faith, Hope and Love” Sunday, April 21.

The concert, which begins at 3 p.m. in Memorial Chapel, features four E&H vocal music groups in their final concert of the school year: the Concert Choir, Men’s Ensemble, Women’s Ensemble and Chamber Singers.

The concert is free and open to the public, but a ticket is suggested to guarantee a seat. Contact 276-944-6846 or Bd[srv7@'1/pkg+l]#[zY?chc+!CqrTtMkb for reservations and information.

The participating groups are the Women's Ensemble, directed by Professor Christianne Roll, faculty member in both the Department of Theatre and the Department of Music, and the Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, and Men's Ensemble, directed by Dr. Robert Matthews, director of choral and vocal studies.  Selections will be accompanied by Robert J. Greene, Jr. at the organ and piano, and a local string quartet.

Selections include Whitacre’s “Five Hebrew Love Songs,” Rutter’s “The Lord is My Shepherd,” Mendelssohn’s “Verleih uns Frieden,” Gjeilo’s “Ubi Caritas,” and Knights’ “You Are the New Day.”

An annual event, reflecting the strong tradition of choral singing at the college, will be concluded as it always is by the singing of the “Lutkin Benediction” by the members of the Concert Choir and any alumni of the choir present.

Emory & Henry College is located off Exit 26 along I-81.
