Sodexo, a global food services and facilities management leader and Emory & Henry College, located in Emory, VA, have entered a ten-year partnership to bring a best-in-class facilities management program to campus beginning spring of 2024.
Emory & Henry College is excited to announce a series of events to celebrate Black History Month as part of its commitment to fostering diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging (DEI&B). These events, organized by the Office of DEI&B, Multicultural Student Association, and Black Student Union, aim to honor and highlight the richness of Black culture and history.
Seven Emory & Henry College students from the class of 2026 pledged a commitment to ethical and compassionate care during a White Coat ceremony on January 11, 2024, at the McGlothlin Center for the Arts. Lisa Boye (Monrovia, Liberia), Nikita Caudill (Glade Spring, Va.), Keenan Glago (Harrisonburg, Va.), Hermella Legesse (Addis Ababa, Ethiopia), Marek Moomey (Callaway, Va.), Emma Santoro (King, N.C.), and Cadence Spaulding (Christiansburg, Va.) marked this significant milestone during a White Coat ceremony in the presence of College leadership, esteemed faculty, supportive friends, and proud family members.
The Emory & Henry study abroad experience is among 100 different programs across 45 countries offered to students. The life-changing experience was made possible by generous donors of the College who helped make the trip more affordable. Students spent the first semester preparing for their trip by learning about the French culture to adequately prepare for their visit.
Congratulations to the students who were recognized for their academic achievement in the fall 2023 Dean’s List. For inclusion on the Dean’s List, the student must be enrolled full-time and receive at least a 3.6 GPA for the semester.
Emory & Henry College Athletics is gaining attention and support as it moves toward full NCAA Division II status in the South Atlantic Conference. Such support is evidenced by a recent $50,000 gift from The Bank of Marion, headquartered in Marion, Virginia.
Brenden Blevins, Emory & Henry ’23, won a state wide journalism award from the Virginia Farm Bureau for his work on Living Appalachia, a weekly agriculture radio show on WEHC 90.7 FM Emory. The award winners were announced at Virginia Farm Bureau’s Annual Convention in Virginia Beach, November 28, 2023.
